It(He) is beautiful my country all that develop to come to know, besides the affectionate and nice people, tb there are thefts there are not believed that everything is a happiness like that that very much(much,a lot of,many,great) eye when they visit us, my favorite walk is the hill san Cristobal with wide parks where to enjoy the sight of her(it) take care from the high thing, tb the cuidades you finance with beautiful beaches as Vineyard of the Mar and others not so known but nearby as Carob-tree the Cinnamon-tree and well so many mas of that estan only at hour and a half of her(it) take care, I invite them to come and they enjoy his(its) demurrage(stay), cordial regards.. Good list! As for buying souvenirs...I would recommend the market across from Cerro Santa Lucia or Pueblito Los Dominicos in las Condes. El Pueblito is more expensive, but has some really beautiful and unique products. http://www.pueblitolosdominicos.com/

This is a great list. My favorites have been Cerro Santa Lucia and la Plaza de armas. There are also alot of great markets. La Persa in Pudahuel is fun on Saturdays. I'm going down there in august leading a group of high schoolers on a ski trip. In the past I have taken them to Vina and Valparaiso and then a quick trip around Santiago. Do you know of anything different that might be more exciting? Maybe something around Los Andes, or even out near Cajon de Maipo?

Thank you, i am thinking about going to chile to volunteer to help orphaned children, i have just gotten out of school and i think it will probably just be me and my other friend (we are both female) do you think it will be safe? Is there anything we should look out for?

As far as the sushi goes, the best sushi in Santiago is at a Japanese restaurant called Japon (located near Plaza Italia) - it's a bit pricey, but it's the real deal.
Also, local music scene is awesome.

ok i have a few questions.....i'll be moving to santiago for a year (with a study abroad program) and would like to visit friends in Rio while i'm there.

would it be better to fly? or take a bus to brazil? (i used to live in both countries and my major is spanish so the language thing shouldn't be a problem)

i guess i would like to travel as cheaply as possible.

For people who plan on snowboarding, make sure you have the proper travel insurance. Some carriers may deem this as an extreme sport; in order to be reimbursed for any medical bills you will be required to have adventure travel insurance. This does cost more, as the risk of injury/accident is higher, but you will NOT be covered otherwise.

I think there are 4 museums inside the Quinta, but it's definitely worth going for aside from the museums...

It's just a fun, chill place to hang out, or play soccer. The museums are a snooze fest!
